We need you

Troop 256 needs your help. Troop 256 has a deficit of people helping with the tasks that need to be done in order to make this a successful Troop. Currently, only a small percentage of the parents are shouldering the responsibilities for everyone. We are all volunteers in this Troop, with the common goal of wanting to get our boys around positive role models, and to help all the boys develop a good character, with a strong moral fiber and leadership skills. However, we all have lives to lead outside of Scouting and cannot individually devote the time needed to run the Troop.

We are in need of our Scouts' parents to volunteer to help out with various positions within the troop, or within the committee. You can help the Troop and your boy(s) by volunteering to help plan and coordinate one outing or fund raiser this year and/or by filling small, currently unfilled committee positions. There are still a few outings that have been planned by the boys and at least one fund raiser that do not have an adult to handle the details of getting them done. If you are interested in helping in some area, but are having difficulty in some aspect or another, contact us so that we may work out the details. Every little bit helps to relieve the burden on the rest.

If you have questions and/or would like to help out by volunteering for a small position, you may contact Mr. Shobe, the Committee Chairperson, Mr. Sanchez, the Scoutmaster, Mr. Jarvis, the Outdoor Chairperson, Mr. Wickham, the Advancement Chairperson (and previous Outdoor Chairperson) or myself.
