In preparation for Geronimo

All right, so you've all been looking forward to going to Camp Geronimo all year, but what do you need to do to prepare? Well, the first thing you need to do is to pay your fee. If you haven't done that, see Mrs. Baker to make arrangements to get it paid. After that, here's where you get the information on what to bring and what not to bring - the official list and supplemental information based on the experience of some who have gone before.

Physicals are due

Author:
Mr. Flatt

For most of the Troop (Scouts and adults alike), physicals expire on June 6th. Since a physical needs to be on file before you can attend a Troop outing (like the trips to Navajo Lake or Geronimo), you need to get those updated soon. If you have questions about whether you or your son(s) need a physical, see Mr. or Mrs. Wickham, and they will give you the information you need.

Fishing at Navajo Lake

Author:
Mr. Flatt

The May fishing trip to Eagle Valley that was moved to June at Duck Creek has once again been changed to Navajo Lake, in favor of better summer temperatures, and, hopefully, better fishing.

ATTENTION: WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO DRIVE, AS THERE ARE NO VANS AVAILABLE FOR THIS OUTING.

In conjunction with this outing, Mr. Jarvis will be teaching the fishing merit badge at the meetings. All who can help will be needed to assist him teaching the various skills required.

Family Camp 2007, part 2

Author: Jed Olsen

My two younger sons and I had a great time at the Boy Scout Family Camp weekend at Cathedral Gorge. We arrived Friday afternoon and set up camp. The weather was great; about 80 degrees when we arrived and it got down to the high 30s at night.

Training opportunities - Leader Specific

Author:
Mr. Flatt

In the Boy Scout world, Leader Specific training can be thought of as being synonymous with High School education. This training is usually held in two phases. The first phase is a three part, day long, class room type setting (along with and right after New Leader Essentials) where much of the core ideals of the Boy Scouts, including the Patrol Method, are presented and discussed. The adults are broken up into patrols, and they go through the lessons together much as the Scouts will in their quest to First Class.
