Geronimo openings

There are still 12 positions open for Scouts to attend Camp Geronimo. If you are interested in going and have not told anyone, now is the time to do so. The Troop committee has decided to offer the extra openings to other Troops to fill up the spaces, so don't delay any longer.

Attending Camp Geronimo is a wonderful opportunity for Scouts. It gives them an chance to experience many different activities. They can try new things to see what they're like, or gain more experience with activities they already know something about. It also gives them time to work on advancing in rank and/or to earn merit badges. Everyone is kept fairly busy from early in the morning 'till late in the evening, so boredom is rarely a problem.

If you want to attend Camp Geronimo, let Mr. Wickham know as soon as possible. Also let him know which merit badge classes you want to take. The sooner you do, the more likely you are to get what you want.

The cost for camp this year is $350.00. You need to get that money to Mrs. Baker as soon as possible. Troop 256 wants to make sure that everyone who wants to go, has the opportunity to go, no matter what their financial situations is. Please see CanDee Baker, the finance chair, for grant applications.

More information on Geronimo (what to pack, what to expect, etc.) will be provided in the next newsletter. Also, if you are lacking in equipment for the event, the Troop has lots of equipment available for loan. Information on that will be added to the website soon.
