Troop 256,

There were 16 participants attending the first hike of the hiking planning program. We had a great time and got back home safe. This was the warm up and a wake up hike to see how our bodies are. Below are some highlights of the hike:

Started at the willow springs trail head at 8 20 with a little of rain and very foggy. Could not see mountains that much

Some moms, dads and siblings participated as well besides the 16 registered participants

Elevation at trail head is 4568 feet

Hiked approx 2.1 miles and took a 10-15 min break. Rain started getting more dense. Everyone put their rain gear on... Well the ones that had on

Altitude 5189 feet

Head back on same trail and rain really was hitting hard on everyone (now feeling the cold weather)

White rock mountain was so pretty with snow on the top

Some boys and parents were really wet at this time

Everyone got back in the trail head approx 10 40

Total miles per participant 4.3 in approx 2 hrs 20 min

Total miles for the group so far 68.8 miles
